2 (and a half) month update

Big smiles down at camp!

My little boy is getting so big, so fast!  We’ve had a busy week this past week, including meeting new people, a BBQ, and a 2 month check-up.

First off, this past week brought us some new friends for BBQ and getting to meet some very important people.  Aunt Liz and X-man came up from Maryland in the beginning of the week and BBQ and I took a trip up to visit with them.  This was the first time that BBQ got to meet his Aunt and cousin.  X-man even got to hold him and it was adorable.  Every time BBQ threw his hand into the air or started to cry X-man would look at his mom with a concerned look on his face.  It was so sweet. We had a great visit and Aunt Liz brought Quentin a special treat from our friend Talia.  She made BBQ a Hellboy hat.  She is amazingly talented. You should visit her at her Etsy site: Squirrel Productions.

After our lovely visit, we only had to wait a day to see Uncle Andy who drove up from Maryland for the weekend for Aunt Liz’s birthday Barbecue and to see my little BBQ for the first time.  He met us for dinner and we planned to spend the next day together at our house.  We had a great time.  Uncle Andy cooked two delicious meals for us and we got to enjoy each other’s company.

Four of my favorite boys.

We ended the weekend with a barbecue at Aunt Liz’s house and we got to meet a lot of new friends including Arianna, Jackson, Liam, and Caiden.  It was a lot of fun!  Next year will be even better because BBQ will be able to interact so much more.  The barbecue was the latest BBQ has ever stayed out.  We didn’t get home until about 11:30 at night.  He slept quite a bit during the barbecue, so I don’t think it was too hard of him. Later in the weekend, Mr. BBQ managed to sleep 8.5 hours… I can’t wait until that is the norm, although his 6.5- 7.5 hours isn’t really all that bad.

Our latest big event was BBQ’s big 2 month appointment at the doctors… which actually took place at 2.5 months.  He weighed in at 11 lbs 11.5 oz putting him in the 30th percentile in weight.  He was 23.5 inches tall, which is the 50th percentile, and had a head circumference of 16 inches, again in the 50th percentile.  He is just about average on on accounts.  He is right where he needs to be developmentally and the doctor had no concerns about him at all.  She did give him the “smiley baby” award for the day though.  After the doctor was done the nurse came in and gave him his first set of shots.  He was a champ, that evening though he was fussy and needed a lot of extra love, and a little baby tylenol.

Ouch!
