3 months and counting…

I'm 3 months old!

Can you believe it? BBQ is officially 3 months old (as of yesterday).  He’s grown so much and he’s even cuter than the day we brought him home. BBQ really enjoys talking and giggling now and does it quite often. He also has slept through the night the past few nights, and by sleep through the night, I mean 9 hours or so.  He gets up at the perfect time, which is about 30 minutes before his cousin O arrives for the day.

As of last week, BBQ has had to learn to share his mommy.  With the school year starting, and some people needed to leave the house to work, O has been spending his day with BBQ and I.  O is 5 and a half months old.  He will be 6 months on the 19th.  I plan to take pictures on his “monthaversaries” as well as BBQ’s.  So far, babysitting has been tiring, but not overwhelming. The boys are going to grow up to be such good friends, I’m really glad that I have the opportunity to not only be home to raise my son, but to be an integral part of my nephew’s life in his first year of life.

Other news for BBQ… well, I’m in the process of putting together a play room for him (and his cousin).  I need to get some things for the walls, but so far, it’s not too bad.  We have a toy box, a “jumperoo”, a play mat, and a few other items in the room so far… Of course, for the most part BBQ still just lays on the ground and we play there.  I’m looking forward to when he can play in the jumper, walker, and other “standing” toys we have for him.  I also am looking forward to him sitting up and playing.

When BBQ first came home we swaddled him to sleep at night, but he no longer requires swaddling, I attribute that to the fact that his arms, hands, feet, and legs have a lot more control.  He’s even trying to suck on his hands now.  He’s growing up so much!

Sleeping babies? Is there anything better?

The big guy and the small one...

Hi Mommy... can I stop smiling for the camera now?
